Webinars

Webinars  Webinars are something that more organisations are doing, often to save time and money. Most training that is commonly delivered face to face can be also delivered via an online classroom or webinar platform. They all allow a variation of connecting remote people together at the same time, through the internet. They allow the sharing of things like your presentation, sharing your screen for applications, as well as a chat window to type messages in and, usually, video and audio for all too.                                Smart Ideas For Project-Based Learning                     This list will constantly be updated with new ideas, tools, and resources. 1. Create an interactive family tree with voice-overs from living family members. 2. Design an app with a specific purpose for a specific audience. 3. Inventory the world’s most compelling ideas in an elegant and browsable interface. 4. Flipping The Classroom

Image
“Flipping the Classroom” is a very interesting concept to me.    I love the idea of having a homework assignment to watch or listen to a video that will prepare your students for the next class, however, I think this would take quite a bit of training and practice for my students to finally get a hang of it. Why flip your classroom? Students become active participants in the learning process.  In a traditional classroom model, students are passive participants, merely absorbing classroom or lecture material. There is often not enough time to stop and ask questions or discuss content. In a flipped model, however, lecture materials are posted online and made accessible 24/7. Thus, students have time to learn at their own pace, jot down any questions they may have before class, and refer to the material again and again. This method prevents students who may need more time to understand concepts from getting left behind as well. Students master material....
Teaching with the Constructivist Learning. Encourage and accept student autonomy and initiative. Try to use raw data and primary sources, in addition to manipulative, interactive, and physical materials. When assigning tasks to the students, use cognitive terminology such as "classify," "analyze," "predict," and "create." Build off and use student responses when making "on-the-spot" decisions about teacher behaviors, instructional strategies, activities, and content to be taught. Search out students' understanding and prior experiences about a concept before teaching it to them. Encourage communication between the teacher and the students and also between the students. Encourage student critical thinking and inquiry by asking them thoughtful, open-ended questions, and encourage them to ask questions to each other. Ask follow up questions and seek elaboration after a student's initial response. Pu...
Multiple Intelligences Activities  Logical/mathematical: Enjoys working with numbers, doing experiments Teaching tip:  Use "science thinking": Ask students to identify scientific principles in areas other than science.  Fun activity :  Find three random things (for example, a blade of grass, the word "long," and the process "jumping") and ask your students to invent an object that uses all three. Fun activity :  Ask students to reinvent or improve upon the designs of everyday objects. Visual/spatial: Enjoys drawing and painting Teaching tip:  Use colors as visual cues: Use a variety of colors of chalk and markers when writing in front of the class. Students can use different colored markers to "color code" materials they are studying.  Fun activity :  Draw an unusual shape and have each student include it in a drawing of his or her own.  Fun activity :  Play drawing games such as  Pictionary  or  Win, Lose ...
